With cutting-edge indoor courts, flexible pay-and-play options, and tailored membership packages, the club is designed to meet everyone's needs, becoming a landmark in London's padel scene.

Players are drawn not only to the high-quality facilities, which include well-maintained courts, coaching sessions, and additional amenities like a bar, gym, and massage services, but also to the friendly atmosphere that makes every visit a pleasant experience.

History

2016: The Birth of an Ambition

In 2016, the closure of a previous padel center in London left many enthusiasts without a place to play. Javier Fernandez Aguirre, one of these enthusiasts, decided to create a new club. With the help of Anka Mandelson, he began a lengthy planning process and search for a suitable location. After two years of effort, the site on Stratford High Street was chosen for its proximity to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and its growth potential.

2018: The Official Opening

On December 8, 2018, Stratford Padel Club officially opened its doors with three courts. The community response was immediate and overwhelming: within weeks, the club reached full capacity, demonstrating the growing demand for high-quality padel facilities in London.

2020: Resilience During the Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic posed a significant challenge for the club. Despite financial difficulties, the community rallied, raising £25,000 to support the club. Additionally, Javier and Anka personally invested to add two new courts, bringing the total to five.

2024: Expansion and Innovation

In February 2024, the club underwent a major expansion, adding four new courts for a total of nine. This expansion allowed the club to host more events and accommodate a larger number of players, solidifying its position as one of the leading padel centers in the UK.

2025: Continued Growth

Today, Stratford Padel Club continues to grow, hosting over 130 tournaments and promoting women's participation in the sport. With over 24,000 registered players, the club has become a cornerstone of British padel.

Facilities and Services

The club boasts nine high-quality indoor courts, equipped with Advantage Pro Padel surfaces to ensure optimal performance. Each court is designed to provide a professional playing experience, with lighting and temperature control ensuring ideal conditions at all times.

In addition to the courts, the club offers a range of services to enhance the player experience:

  • Modern changing rooms with showers and secure lockers.

  • bar serving hot food and drinks, perfect for relaxing after a match.

  • A fully equipped gym for padel-specific conditioning.

  • padel shop offering rackets, balls, and accessories.

  • Match recording and streaming services, allowing players to analyze their performance.

Stratford Padel Club is known for hosting a wide range of events and tournaments, from friendly competitions to high-level tournaments. Among the most notable events are:

  • Stratford Padel Club Open B: A tournament for intermediate players.

  • SPC Open A Tournament: A competition for advanced players.

  • LTA Grade 1 Open: A prestigious tournament attracting the best British padel talents.

The club is also committed to promoting women's padel, organizing some of the largest women's tournaments in the UK.

Players and Achievements

The club has seen the rise of some of the best British padel talents. Among them stand out:

  • Christian Medina Murphy: Winner of the FIP Rise title at the club and one of the UK's top players.

  • Aimee Gibson: The first British woman to break into the top 100 of the FIP world rankings, with victories in international tournaments.

These successes demonstrate the club's impact in promoting and developing top-tier talent.

Criticisms and Areas for Improvement

Despite its many strengths, the club has faced some criticism, primarily related to the difficulty of booking courts due to high demand. Some players have expressed frustration over the lack of availability, especially during peak hours.

Additionally, while prices are considered affordable, some users have noted that the difficulty in booking can affect the perceived value. To improve the player experience, the club could consider adding more courts or implementing a more dynamic booking system.

Future and Vision

Stratford Padel Club continues to look to the future with ambition. Among the future plans are further facility expansions, service improvements, and initiatives to introduce young people to padel. The club aims to become a reference point not only for British football but also for the international sports community.

With its commitment to inclusivity, innovation, and the growth of the sport, Stratford Padel Club represents a model of excellence in the world of padel, demonstrating how passion and vision can transform a simple sports center into a true institution.
